Biggest Oscar Winner: Adult Moviegoers

There’s a cool photo on the front page of the LA Times this morning. A cleanup crew gives the last of the Oscar statues a ride home down Hollywood Boulevard after Sunday’s Academy Awards. Below that is an article about how the real winners at this year’s show were adult moviegoers. The Times says six of the nine Best Picture nominees were box office hits, earning more than $100 million domestically, a sign, perhaps, that Hollywood is ready to invest in movies that don’t pander to young men and teens.
