Snow a Devil to Predict for Weather Forecasters

The Sequester is not the only liquidity problem in DC these days. The Washington Post describes how weather forecasters are put in their place by snow predictions. Just one factor changes and a rain forecast can turn into 10 inches of snow, which is what happened last night when a “Snowquester” hit the capital. Says the Post: “It’s hard for an ordinary person to judge rainfall totals, and the storm sewers gobble up the excess. But someone can detect a bad snow forecast — too much snow, or too little — just by looking out the window.”
