Study: Smell of Women’s Tears a Turn Off

Ladies, if you’re trying to get the man in your life to notice you, refrain from crying. According to the LA Times, research has found that men are turned off by the smell of a woman’s tears. Not only did the smell of tears make women seem less arousing, it actually prompted men to produce lower levels of testosterone. As one researcher astutely put it: “we’ve uncovered the chemical word for ‘no,’ or ‘not now.’ “

Reporters at the New York Times obviously read the same study. They say researchers are now studying men’s emotional tears to see what, if any, reaction they have on the body. One hypothesis is that the smell of a man crying could serve to reduce aggression levels in other men.
