Just One Cigarette Bad for You


Even one cigarette is bad for you. That’s the takeaway from the first Surgeon General’s report on tobacco in four years. New research indicates that just one puff from just one cigarette can damage a person’s DNA and lead to cancer. USA Today says the report is centered on the addictive properties of cigarettes including ways that Big Tobacco has engineered their products to be more addictive. Adding ammonia to the tobacco to make it hit the brain faster, adding sugar to lessen the burn and adding holes to the filter are just some the industry’s latest tricks.
