Study: Most People Ignore Simple Heart Disease Prevention


Advice to improve your health only works if you take it. And according to the LA Times, not a lot of people do. There are seven simple steps that the American Heart Association says will cut your risk of heart disease by more than a half. But only two people out of more than 17,820 who were asked said they practiced all seven tips.

Studies have shown that for every criteria met, the chance of death by cardiovascular disease in reduced in 15 percent. The advice includes getting about 150 minutes of exercise every week, not smoking cigarettes for at least a year, and having a body mass index of less than 25.
