Dallas Win First NBA Championship


They showed “blue grit” says the Dallas Morning News. It was “mav-elous.” The Dallas Mavericks scored 40 points in the fourth quarter of Game Six yesterday, pushing them ahead of the Miami Heat and into the arms of their first NBA Championship win. The Fort Worth Star Telegram says last night’s 105-95 victory provided redemption for Dirk Nowitzki.

Miami Herald columnist Greg Cote says “fail” might seem like a strong word to use for LeBron and co. “but in the real world the Heat created for itself beginning last summer, fail is precisely what Miami did [last night].” And in Cleveland, the Plain-Dealer chose to gleefully revisit an interview given by LeBron, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in which the three projected how many titles they would win in Miami.
