Cindy Adams on the Death of Etiquette


In this morning’s paper, Cindy Adams applies the I-walked-to-school-uphill-both-ways-in-the-snow treatment to several things that irk her about our world today. And the New York Post columnist’s dissatisfaction touches on lots of things including banks: “You deposit your own money, they’ll still demand identification”; English: “Attracting someone’s attention is no longer ‘Beg your pardon.’ It’s ‘Hey!’; and clapping: “Instead of suggesting applause, it’s ‘Put your hands together.’”
