Becoming a Hockey Fan Late in Life


I’ve come to terms with the fact that hockey is a second-class sport in most of America. So I enjoyed St. Petersburg Times reporter Ben Montgomery’s front-page column today about the joys of discovering the sport. Montgomery says after a lifetime of ignoring hockey, he has become the ultimate “bandwagon jumper.”:  “I haven’t paid attention to as many Canadians since the Barenaked Ladies debuted.”
