First it was driving while texting. Now it’s walking and texting that’s come under the gaze of public scrutiny. The Boston Globe says texting-while-walking resulted in over 1000 emergency room trips in 2008. And that was back when we were only sending half as many texts—one trillion—to each other. Most of the time, the injuries sustained are just to the ego but some lawmakers are trying to institute rules before someone really gets hurt.
