Texans Remember ‘Day Space Fell to Earth’


Today is the 10th anniversary of the Columbia Space Shuttle accident, an event still vivid in the minds of Texans, many of whom saw debris from the crash fall back to Earth. The Houston Chronicle says for those who retrieved pieces from their property, some of which included remains of the seven astronauts on board, the tragedy “gave them a connection to NASA that none could have imagined.”
