Target Fights ‘Show-Rooming’ With Price Matching

Target is preparing for an all-out price war. In an effort to combat “show-rooming,” the practice of checking out a product in store but purchasing for a cheaper price online, the retailer has said it will match prices from Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Bestbuy.com and a host of other online stores. The Minneapolis Star Tribune says the policy began as a holiday promotion but was extended to 365 days a year, a trend that analysts expect to spread around the industry.
