Study: Mediterranean Diet Cuts Risk of Cardiovascular Problems


The New York Post devotes some major real estate this morning to a new study claiming the Mediterranean diet can cut one’s risk of cardiovascular disease by 30 percent. While study partipants didn’t lose weight, the ones who stuck to a diet high in olive oil, nuts, fish, and wine saw a dramatic decrease in their risk of cardiovascular problems despite the fact that, as the Post puts it, “the entire group consisted of fatties, smokers and diabetics.”
