Office Spray Tan All the Rage

Lunch at your desk, sure. But spray tan appointment at your desk—really? Yes, really says the New York Post. As more and more tanning salons offer on-site visits, more and more office workers are taking them up on it. Outfitted with a pop-up tent and a “mobile air-brushing contraption,” the in-office sprayers say the service makes their clients feel like A-listers. It typically costs about $100 to score an appointment but rates drop (to the $50 level) depending on how many colleagues you can get to strip down with you in the conference room.
The Post says the idea began when fashion magazines realized it was cheaper to call in spray tanners to photo shoots instead of painting models with body paint—soon afterwards, editors at those magazines were calling for their own appointments. Because the treatment dries quickly, the service can be done virtually anywhere. Mobile sprayers say they’ve done their magic everywhere from the bathroom at a Manhattan restaurant to the basement of a funeral home.
