Fruit Flies Help Space Travel Study

They will go where no fruit fly has gone before. The San Francisco Chronicle says in a year, a group of fruit flies and their “itty-bitty hearts” will travel to the International Space Station to help researchers determine what kind of long-term effects space travel leaves on the human cardiovascular system.
