Doctors Urged to Ponder Health Risks of Space Travel


The prospect of space tourism is an exciting one, but it raises some odd questions for doctors, says the San Francisco Chronicle. Example: “What is the maximum time my patient with osteoporosis can spend on a vacation at a space hotel?” That question was posed in a paper published in the British Medical Journal today, which advocates that doctors start thinking about what space travel will mean in terms of a patient’s health.
