Ford Announced Car Seat Heart Monitor

Ford just announced a car that monitors your heart. My first thought: maybe you shouldn’t be driving if a heart attack is imminently possible. But USA Today says the monitor was designed to be an early warning. It’s not the first time an automaker has attempted something like this. Apparently, Volvo released a heart monitor “aimed at remotely telling drivers whether an intruder was hiding inside their parked car at night” in some of their models a few years back. Not very many takers. The Ford model is still in development while some kinks are worked out. Engineers are still trying to get the device to work with certain types of clothes and body shapes.
