Apple has succeeded where Best Buy, Home Depot and countless others have failed. And that would be in China. The San Jose Mercury News says the “corporate celebrity status” Apple enjoys in the US is intensified in China(Chinese consumers flock to the flagship store in Beijing to have their picture taken with the iconic logo), making it one of the only Western brands to get some real traction in the country. The fact that some of Apple’s products are more expensive in China has deterred sales, or Apple’s interest in the region. They plan on opening 25 new retails stores in the coming months.
