Tablet Pricing: No One Does it Better than Apple


Every tech company on the planet seems to have a knockoff of the iPad coming to market. But nobody has managed to undercut Apple on price. The New York Times says the company’s deep pockets and strong relationships with suppliers allow it to ensure excellent deals on components. Another reason Apple is able to keep it’s pricing competitive is that they avoid licensing fees by making many of the iPad’s parts in house.

San Jose Mercury News tech columnist Troy Wolverton reviews one of the new tablets that recently debuted, Motorola’s Xoom. He says although it’s the best rival to the iPad out there so far, “it helps illustrate just how far ahead of its rivals Apple remains.”
