Camry Named “Most American” Car
Monday, 27 June 2011 | by Pat's Picks

Bye, bye, Miss American Pie. Drove my Camry to the levee, but the levee was dry. Doesn’t sound quite right, does it? Well, according to USA Today, the best-selling Toyota model was just named the “most American of all vehicles.” It’s the third year in a row the Camry has snagged top billing. Number two on the Cars.com list is also a Japanese import, the Honda Accord. The annual list ranks the American-ness of vehicles based on three factors: the percentage of parts produced in the US, the location of the automaker’s factories and the models popularity with American consumers. The Chevy Malibu managed a third-place finish, making it one of five US models on the list.
