Big Sandwich News: Subway Adds Avocado

Avocado lovers, I’m about to make your day. Subway just announced that it will add mashed avocados to the palette their sandwich artists create from, starting next week. On the West Coast, sliced avocados will be the available at most locations. Customers will have to pay an extra 50 cents to $1 for the green addition, but company officials say the way avocados performed in their market tests leaves them confident people will splurge for the add on.  USA Today says it’s another move down the “better-for-you” marketing path that the chain has pursued for several years now.
