Subway Revamps Cheese Placement

Talk about attention to detail. The sandwich artists over at Subway are going to add tessellation to their repertoire of skills. According to the Chicago Tribune, the term means “positioning shapes in a pattern without overlap and with no gaps.” Franchise owners were informed that starting tomorrow, all cheese triangles must be tessellated so as to “provide greater cheese coverage on each sandwich.”
Apparently there was an online campaign a few years ago, spurred by this cartoon:
But Subway officials say they came up with the idea on their own.
