Wrestling Dropped from 2020 Games

Yesterday brought bad news for wrestling fans, says the Minneapolis Star Tribune, as the International Olympic Committee voted to remove the sport from Olympic contention for the 2020 Games. Wrestling advocates have added their name to the list of sports the IOC will consider adding when they reconvene in September, but insiders say it’s unlikely the sport will be included again so quickly. Other sports vying for inclusion include baseball, wakeboarding, sport climbing, squash, roller sports, karate and wushu, a Chinese martial art.
