Marilyn Hagerty has been in the newspaper business for 65 years. So when the 85-year-old columnist’s unironic review of an Olive Garden in North Dakota made its way onto Gawker last week, she didn’t pay much notice. And when she became the target of Internet mockery, she also didn’t pay much attention either (“I don’t have time to sit here and twit over whether some self-styled food expert likes, or does not like, my column.”) writes her son, Wall Street Journal reporter, James Hagerty, in this morning’s paper.
