Why did the turkey cross the road? To attack the mail carrier, of course. A certain wild turkey went “postal” yesterday says the Cape Cod Times. A substitute mail man says he was more than a little nervous when, as he worked his route, a male turkey “came up alongside the vehicle’s starboard and launched into a series of side jumps.”  That was after an initial encounter with the bird which caused the carrier to gun it down a side street. Apparently, the turkey knew a shortcut. After their tussle ended the postal worker said he had an idea of what might have rustled the turkey’s feathers: “I think it might be the eagle painted on the side of the truck.”
