UPS is fighting hard against a pilot’s right to sleep says the Courier-Journal. Last year, the FAA proposed new restrictions to fight pilot fatigue—rules that apply to both commercial and cargo pilots. But UPS officials say their pilots have gotten used to their night-shift routine and that the new rules would “disrupt that equilibrium and actually increase the chance of accidents.” They also say the new rule would cost them $1 billion over the next ten years.
