Tony Scott’s Death Complicates ‘Top Gun’ 3-D Release


The New York Times says the 3D version of “Top Gun” is in limbo following director Tony Scott’s death earlier this year. The 3-D version was meant as a “way to whet the world’s appetite for a sequel that was being planned by Mr. Scott, Mr. Cruise and the producer Jerry Bruckheimer.” But now that Scott—and the chance of a sequel—is gone, studio executives are wondering whether to alter their plans.
