Turns out Snoop isn’t the only dog in the rap business. The Anchorage Daily News says the “inevitable collision between rap music and sled dog racing has arrived.” Twenty-five-year-old Iditarod rookie Braxton Peterson doesn’t just race dogs, he raps about them too. Part of the hip hop group Musherz, Peterson’s songs include “2 Feet on the Drag” and “Running All Night.” Peterson said he discovered hip hop during the long hours stuck behind a dog sled. It’s no surprise then, that most of his rhymes are about dog racing:
“Now I’m twisting, dipping, winding, turning through the trees
Now I got my headlight off because I’m creeping on a team
Full moon reflected off the snow so I can see
He shut his headlight off because I think that he heard ME.”
