OK—if you have no idea what this headline means, this one is a little too obscure for you. But if you’re still with me, there’s a good piece in the Wall Street Journal about the true cost of compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley corporate disclosure law. With the Supreme Court taking up a challenge to the rules, the Journal’s assistant editor James Freeman cites research that says the compliance costs of the legislation far outweigh its benefits to the investing public.
