Study: Your Bathroom is Dangerous

On your next trip to the bathroom, exercise caution. According to a new report released by the CDC, bathrooms are rife with ways to hurt oneself. Showers and baths, says the LA Times, are the staging ground for two-thirds of bathroom related accidents. Interacting with a toilet—sitting down, standing up, etc—-is another cause for concern. Also, in case you’re curious, “over-exertion” is responsible for nine percent of the bathroom-related injuries reported in the US.

All told, bathtub, shower, toilet and sink accidents caused an estimated 234,094 nonfatal injuries last year. Read the full report here.
