Study: Skinny Women Earn More Money

It pays to be skinny, says the New York Post—literally. According to a recent study, a typical skinny woman makes almost $11,000 more than a woman of average weight. And in the other direction—a heavy woman makes almost $10,000 less than an average-sized woman.

More specifically, being 30 pounds less than the average weight for women in America (164 pounds) earned skinny ladies about $10,719 in extra annual income. Being 30 pounds overweight meant making $9,873 less. The baseline was a $40,000 annual salary. Interestingly, the tables were turned for men. A man weighing 30 pounds over the average pulled in about $7,775 more than his regular-sized colleagues; men who were thirty pounds underweight made about $8,436 less.
