There are many wonderful things about having children. But according to a new study, there are a couple not so wonderful things too: kids, apparently, make you fat. OK, that’s a simplification. But the Minneapolis Star Tribune says researchers at the University of Minnesota determined that new parents are much less likely to exercise and eat well than young adults without small kids. New moms ate as many vegetables as their counterparts without kids but they also consumed more calories, fat and sugary drinks. And both mothers and fathers spent about an hour less a week working out than childless adults.
