Students Protest Naming Football Field After Prison Operator

Students at Florida Atlantic University are protesting a decision to name their football field after a prison operator. The Sun Sentinel says the decision was made after the GEO Group made a $6 million donation to the school. The company, which has lost several lawsuits pertaining to prisoner abuse and has been fined by OSHA, is described by the university as a “wonderful company.”
