Stock Market Hits High Mark

The Wall Street Journal says the stock market is moving into all-time record territory—finally wiping out the losses of the financial crisis along the way. Yesterday’s historic gain of 126 points puts the Dow at almost double what it was in October of 2009. The Journal says despite the gains there was no discernible sense of excitement on the stock market floor as the trading day came to a close. Part of that is simply that many humans have been replaced by computers since 2007, but it also reflects the lack of a “massive sense of euphoria.”
