Startup Allows Web Users to Sell Their Personal Data

What if web users could sell their own data? That’s the question in the New York Times this morning. The idea is that people don’t like their personal data being mined by advertisers but they might not mind it so much if they got something out of the transaction. A new startup has rolled out a voluntary download that will track your web movements and then allow you to limit the information you want advertisers to see. Profits from the data will be donated to a charity of your choice.
