Smog-Eating Roof Tiles The Latest in Green Construction

It’s the perfect accessory for a California home says the Press-Enterprise. Hoping to tap into the growing interest in green construction, a Los Angeles-based roofing company has come up with smog-eating roof tiles. On an average 2000-square-foot home the tiles can break down the same amount of nitrogen oxides that a car engine produces over 10,800 miles. The company says when several houses on a block install the tiles, the air quality of the entire neighborhood improves.
