The residents of Johnstown, Pennsylvania have a case of d?j? vu. Their minor league hockey team, the basis of the 1977 cult classic, “Slap Shot,” is moving to North Carolina. But unlike in the movie when the move is just a ruse by Paul Newman’s character to get his team to win, this time it’s real says the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The Post-Gazette says that heartbreak is nothing new to the residents of Johnstown, who have dealt with “three epic floods, the crash of the local steel and coal industries [and] the recent death of congressional patron Jack Murtha.”
