Is Steven Colbert serious about running for the Senate? Or maybe more importantly, are we ready for Sen. Steven Colbert? Hours after news that South Carolina’s Sen. Jim DeMint was stepping down the run the American Heritage Foundation, a Twitter account was championing the Comedy Central host as his successor. When asked by the New York Post if he was affiliated with said account, Colbert replied: “I can neither confirm nor deny anything or anyone that may arise in fervent support of what many are calling ‘Stephen Colbert’s Appointment with Destiny.’”
