Report: Mubarak Richest Man in the World

He may not be the most well-liked man in the world right now but he’s one of the richest. The New York Post picks up a Guardian report that embattled Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak could be the richest man in the world. Worth about $70 billion, the Post says most of his money is stashed in foreign bank accounts and “shadowy real-estate holdings.” That sum makes Mubarak more wealthy than Mexico’s Carlos Slim and Bill Gates, the richest American. It has also angered many in the Arab world says the Post.

Here is the Guardian report on Mubarak. The British paper says most of his money has come from being privy to investment deals that have made billions in profit.
