“Red Bull Defense” Keeps Man Out of Jail

Not only does Red Bull give you wings, it apparently gives you a get out of jail free card. The St. Petersburg Times says a man accused of smothering his father to death was found not guilty by reason of insanity by a Florida judge. The man’s defense was an unusual one. Among other things, the court heard that sleep deprivation and “drinking a lot of the Red Bull energy drink” caused his bout of insanity. Prosecutors were quick to dismiss the notion that the Red Bull excuse carried weight in the verdict.
