Twitter is on David Carr’s mind this morning. The “indefinite suspension” of CNN’s Roland Martin (after he tweeted about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad during the Super Bowl) inspired the New York Times’ columnist to call Twitter a double-edge sword: It offers media personalities a way to build their personal brands but it eschews “contemplativeness,” which can lead to PR nightmares.
