Joseph A. Califano Jr., Lyndon B. Johnson’s top assistant for domestic policy, writes a guest column in the Washington Post this morning, calling on President Obama to take a lesson from LBJ, who was the last president to fight for “comprehensive gun control” in the wake of the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy. His advice? “Demand action on comprehensive gun control immediately from this Congress or lose the opportunity during your presidency.”
