Opinion: Hands Off Our Bulbs


New York Post columnist John Podhoretz is the defender of the incandescent lightbulb today. He says the federal ban on traditional lightbulbs is an example of energy policy reaching too far into our lives. He frames it as a free enterprise issue with Congress taking away what Thomas Edison brought as an American innovator: “The light-bulb ban was an astonishing overreach by Congress—using raw legislative power in the most high-handed possible way to will a beloved consumer product out of existence.”
