Opinion: Grammys Best of All Awards Shows

NY Post TV writer Michelangelo Mato says the Grammys are the most entertaining of all the awards shows, because pop music knows how to do three-minute spectacles like no one else. Matos says they have stolen the show from the VMAs, which “pioneered the idea of an awards show that fed off the egomania of its performers.” He says while the VMAs have become “incoherent” as artists try to top each other’s antics, “the middle-of-the-road Grammys…have been forced to up the glitz factor — to the show’s benefit.”
