Online Education the New College?

After a sleek Silicon Valley face-lift, online college classes are enjoying a new status, says the San Jose Mercury News. Proponents of virtual education say it’s a good way to contain costs, raise enrollment and get more people to graduate. And some schools are seriously considering a future where online learning is central. For example, the University of California system is batting around a proposal that would make 10 percent of a student’s course work online.
