One in Six American Marriages are Interracial

New data proves that black women are right to wonder why it’s so hard to find ?good? black men to marry says the New York Times. The paper says one in five black men who were married in 2008 do so with a non-black woman. The percentage is only about 9 percent for black women.  Experts say when the prison population is figured into those left on the market, it makes things very difficult for black women who want to marry someone from their own race. Results from the new study found that about 1 in 6 marriages in this country are interracial.
