It might be the “mudder of all Derbys” says the Louisville Courier-Journal. Meteorologists are predicting 1.5 inches of rain for Saturday, that’s more rain than Derby Day has seen since 1929. Churchill Downs has a no umbrella policy, which the paper warns could “wreak havoc on stylish headwear and ladies? dresses.” They recommend bringing a plastic poncho, “preferably clear to show off your outfit.” Coverage of the race starts at 11 AM EST.
