Meow the Fat Cat Dies

Meow has reached the end of his nine lives. The 39-pound cat who became a spokes-feline for the pet obesity problem died is a Santa Fe shelter last night of lung failure. Weighing the equivalent of about a 600-pound man, Meow was put on a diet by the shelter staff, says the LA Times. But unfortunately it was too late.
