Kids Come to Rescue After Bus Driver Collapses
Thursday, 23 December 2010 | by Pat's Picks

A group of school kids came to the rescue after their bus driver collapsed at the wheel yesterday says the St. Petersburg Times. The bus was carrying K-8 students to school when it “veered onto the sidewalk, over to some grass, then back onto the neighborhood street.” An eighth grader and a seventh grader rushed to the front of the bus and “started pushing buttons.” They figured out how to get the door to open, which enabled a passerby to board the bus and bring it to a stop. They also kept the younger students calm while help arrived.
