Impersonating Teenage Girls for a Living

A headline in today’s St. Louis Post-Dispatch caught me eye this morning: “Cops Who Talk Like Girls Catch Monsters.” The story is about police officers—in particular, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound, ex-Marine with a bushy red beard—who impersonate teens online to catch pedophiles. Officers say they keep cheat sheets near them so they can quickly figure clothes sizes or teenage girl topics like “bras and birth control.” A pack of Post-It notes is also kept close at hand to be placed over body parts on X-rated websites.
