Hotel Chains Pull Plug on Baths

Here’s a question for you: Can you still call it a bathroom if it doesn’t have a bath? USA Today says bathtubs are “going the way of a mint on the pillow” in most major US hotel chains. The reason? Most business travelers don’t have time for a long soak and say they’d prefer a more luxurious shower instead. Only 55 percent of Holiday Inn’s new hotel rooms feature a bathtub, compared to 95 percent a few years ago; Marriott says 75 percent of its rooms will eventually be shower-only.
